OVERVIEW
Automation of major processes in big greenhouses like climate regulation, artificial rain, artificial light, rainwater storage and treatment, nutrient preparation and dosing. Below are typical applications where these companies can use our products.
SOLUTION
Rainwater treatment:
At big greenhouses the rain from the surface is gathered in a pond or storage tanks. It is mainly used for controlled, artificial rain. After a filtration unit, concentrated H2O2 is dosed in the feed line to the sprinklers proportional to a water meter for disinfection. The EWN-A pump, with its high compression head gives a very reliable solution for the degassing H2O2 solution. The EWN-A pump has been welcomed with great enthusiasm because it provides a fool- proof solution even when the installation has been down for a couple of days.
Nutrient preparation:
During hydro culture, a well-defined mixture of nutrients is dosed in the water supply to the plants. This concentrated solution is mixed in an automated unit where several basic components (liquid fertilizers, special nutrients and/or biocides) are dosed using Iwaki Centrifugal MD pumps (mostly MD-20 up to MD-40) and Walchem EZ Series pumps. Every base component is transferred from small storage tanks to the mixing unit (up to 1000 gallon) by its own pump (flooded setup), controlled via a PLC or controller. Several recipes are preprogrammed and determine how long every pump is powered on. Some components only need to be dosed in very small amounts and so the EZ pump can be used.
